The test I took are the ANA, D timer, and a few others. They showed nothing significant the ANA is for nuclear antibodies and may show if you had Mono in the past the D timer shows Micro clotting. But all these tests were before Long covid so not sure how relevant as my symptoms certainly indicate something that is not being picked up so all these clinics are using test that may not be relevant for us. In the research world they are able to pick up bio markers for Long covid but they are using test and equipment that are not available to the LabCorp of the world. Everyone should take the newsletter responsum for long covid and there's an app for that and that gives updated information on research and is hopeful. This week they featured a phase 3 trial for FDA approval for two drugs and combination one of which is Lipitor. The other drug which I forgot sorry has been used at Stanford Harvard and mass General. They are on an FDA fast track for commercial approval. Another company dogwood therapeutics is also in trial for a combination drug using Celebrex and an antiviral for commercial development.
All of my bloodwork had to go to labcorp for testing. Not sure why. I have also had the test to see if I have the geneotype that make it harder for my body to break down clots, which I do. That blood test is the PAl-1 gene polymorphism test. The question is , will your pcp know what to do once he has this information? The LC clinic that I am a patient with is an independent clinic and does not take insurance. You can use your insurance for bloodwork, but the clinic has a cash/credit policy. The treatments are individually made according to their test results.
