As promised, my successful tapering off Effexor (Venlafaxine)

Hello, I'm new here.
I'm 68 and have been on venlafaxine 300 mg for about 4 years now.
I had been taking 450 mg since 1995.
I asked my doctor to help me come down even more last year and he prescribed a bottle of 75 mg.
I was too scared to do it back then but now I've decided that this is a time. So I have been taking 150 mg plus one 75 mg each day for five days now.
I'm also taking trazadone 200 mg and Lorazepam.
I'm here mostly for support but if anybody has any suggestions or comments, I'm open minded.

Many have success switching over to Prozac and then tapering off the Prozac. It has a much longer half life than Effexor which makes it easier to taper off. I’ve never done this but have read success stories.
