What shoes and/or insoles work for you? How about OOFOS?
I believe I have Plantar Fasciitis on top of the PN. Have tried SO many different shoes. Skechers (good cushioning, poor arch support), Brooks (for my narrow feet, but arch support not great) OrthoFeet, and several others. Also Upstep custom arch supports. (They have a 180 day guarantee -- I ended up using it because they just couldn't get it right for me.) The closest I have come to something that is bearable are Saucony Guide 17 shoes. I can tolerate these, but they still aren't quite there. Now, I'm seeing an ad for OOFOS in my FB feed, and wonder about them. Cushioning is what I need, along with support for the sides of my feet.

Good day, My main problem with this idiopatic neuropothy is balance also. Oh yes, I have the burning, tingling, numbness in my feet and calves, all of this I can deal with, not easy, but I do. I have tried many, many different shoes. Hoka seems to work best for me, I also like Brooks. They both have high arches and stability, since I overpronate, I am willing to try any shoes that help with balance, always on the lookout!! Thanks for taking the time to read this and best wishes.....
I have some Oofos slides that I sometimes wear around the house. I would really LOVE to try their shoes, but they have no Wide Shoes, and I definitely need a Wide toe box. I am surprised that a company that deals in "Recovery Shoes" doesn't make Wide sizes in their enclosed shoes. I have written to the company to share my thoughts, and they simply apologize for not being able to offer Wide or Extra-Wide widths. The best shoes I have found are "Grand Attack" Barefoot Shoes on Amazon... less than $40... that give me LOTS of room for my toes. I also have some ExtraWide LEMS enclosed shoes that are great! Check them out at LEMS.com Best wishes! Mike
I had insoles made by a podiatrist, sanity saver. They take a imprint of your sole. No guess work can be used with any shoe that will accommodate insole and foot comfortably. As to foot drop orthotics here's two that are the best. Reasonably priced and almost perfect as well as versatile. Adjustable Drop Foot Brace Foot Up AFO Brace Unisex Fits for Right/Left Foot Orthosis Ankle Brace Support, Improve Walking Gait, Effective Relieve Pain for Achilles Tendon (Black)
AFO Drop Foot Brace Orthosis for Hemiplegia Stroke Varus Foot Improve Walking Gait, Effective Relieve Pain for Walking with Shoes, Lightweight & Invisible (XL, Left foot) Just copy and paste in Amazon. Tried to provide link and it put's Ya in my account 😉 No bueno, best wishes and life to all.
This should work better... Tenbo Adjustable Drop Foot Brace Foot Up AFO Brace Unisex Fits for Right/Left Foot Orthosis Ankle Brace Support, Improve Walking Gait, Effective Relieve Pain for Achilles Tendon (Black) sold by Stendort ----- Furlove AFO Drop Foot Brace Orthosis for Hemiplegia Stroke Varus Foot Improve Walking Gait, Effective Relieve Pain for Walking with Shoes, Lightweight & Invisible (XL, Left foot) Here's hoping, the first is great with any laced shoe. The second is good also for sandals, boots etc. As I put this together I also found options for the second one about half the price. Which I'm gonna try out. I had purchased a similiar brand but the XL was too small for my feet. They are rigid so just verify there's free return shipping before you buy.
Barefoot Shoes are working for me. They help with balance, you can feel the ground & they strengthen your leg & calf muscles. I thought Hoka’s were the answer because they are so cushioned & supportive but Barefoot Shoes work differently. My physical therapists wear them & have more varied exercises that strengthen my ankles. Check Amazon for a great variety. Some are paper thin & others do give a bit more support. They are not very expensive so you can try different types till you’re satisfied. I’ve had PN for 15 years & tried everything but so far, Barefoot Shoes give me the most relief.
My issue is that I have very narrow feet! Believe it or not, hard to find because most manufacturers of athletic shoes start at Medium!
I just purchased what seems like a pretty innovative product that I have not seen discussed here. SOLE insoles are custom molded to your foot right in your own home. Put them on a baking sheet, bake at 200 degrees for 2 minutes. Take them out, insert in your shoe, and stand in a neutral position for 2 minutes without moving.

Closest I've found for real comfort yet!
I find it better to get an insole that works for you then use it in any shoe. My podiatrist recommended trying https://theinsolestore.com/, their power step pinnacle insoles and if you need more support, the power step pinnacle plus, both in the $50 range. I have tried both, & the first one worked better for me.
I have had custom insoles made years ago at ridiculous prices, way over $300 and the pinnacle insoles work better for my burning feet issues at a very reasonable price.
I have tried Oofos slide ons, but never their shoes. They worked well until my burning feet became an issue, now don’t seem to help at all. They are very comfortable, just not for my issues.
I use the pinnacle insole in Sketchers Light slip in relaxed fit sneaker with a mesh upper. I have secure balance and a comfortable fit. I have tried every brand of sneaker out there & these work the best for me.
Around the house, instead of a slipper I use Easy Spirit slide ins (with the small raised back) with my Pinnacle insoles. So far these two shoes have worked for me.
Good luck in your search, as different brands work for different people.
