Sudden aging

Posted by snowmass @snowmass, Oct 7 10:14am

Hello
I am 53 caught suddenly by multitude of issues and pain that started with all body joint pain one day in age 52.
Still in the process of figuring out (some are still yet to identify thus the treatment) and managing.
It unfortunately is progressing worse and getting harder to manage to a point where I feel I may need to hire help.
I was a single professional thinking I will enjoy working to retirement age then healthy enough to enjoy some do nothing before failed health stops you.
I suppose these are what many go thru. I tried counseling and trying mindfulness but it’s still very hard and wonder sometimes when is good time to stop.
How do you or have you prepare and deal with such?
Thank you in advance.

So sorry at such at young 53 you have pain issues.

I older than you and also had body nerve pain to the point I could not put one foot in front of the other and was shuffling my feet just to move. Had several falls.

Had nerve test, MRI' with and without contrast, on yucking meds. Numerous of diagnosis but nothing specifically identified:

(1). Why my whole body was hurting,
(2). Why my spine from the neck down was stiff and painful,
(3). Why was there constant numbness in both my hands and feet,
(4). Why was I having constant foot turning muscle spasms, and a drop foot
(5). Why was I experiencing constant chronic sciatica pain immobilizing my mobility.

The only definite answer I got from specialist visits were you owe this copay. 🙄

One day after visiting my spine doctor who suggested a procedure that after researching it did not set well with my soul I fell down in the bed and I cried out to God to please help me. My Beautiful husband cried out for me too.

I was tired of lying down eating pills as a treatment.

Sure enough, I heard a small voice. It was God. He said fast. So, I took him at his word and did a 4 day dry fast and all the inflammation in my joints reduced and I was able to get up out the bed and walk around. I lost 17 pounds. Then I transitioned to a water fast for 5 days and afterwards feeling sp much better.

😇 Please note that I am "NOT" pushing my faith on anyone, Okay.😇

I am merely speaking to my own healing experience. What God show me was that my whole body inflammation was killing me.

He then gave me direction to start paying attention to how foods made me feel and identify and journal the foods causing inflammation.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE God's direction made in my life.

My Beautiful Husband and I are enjoying life more because I included him in God's plan and he now knows what foods affect him also.

🤨 Although his sweet tooth gets him in trouble with me at times. 😂

No more taking pain meds and anti inflammatory meds numerous times a day or sleeping aids to sleep due to pain.

No more going back and forth to doctor visits other than check ups and hearing the primary doctor say whatever you are doing keep it up.

Just a change in diet has made a difference in our life as God has made a difference in our hearts.

Sure, we are aging and Arthur let us know joints are wearing out. But we will continue to eat to live and not live to eat putting clean delicious none inflammation causing food in our body. I am grateful for God's wisdom he has shared with others we read about their experiences with inflammation.

I hope sharing a tiny piece of my long winded experience with pain 😂 can encourage and benefit someone.

🕊️ We bid you eat, drink, and be merry peace.🕊️

So true Ed,

The Mayo Clinic discussion group is awesome! So, glad I found it as I have been blessed and encouraged by so many wonderful people sharing of experiences and great advice.

🎉Congratulations on your weightloss.🎉

I am glad to share that I have lost 52 lbs and Beautiful Husband has lost 25 lbs. Still eating, drinking, and being merry. (Healthy foods and drinks)

Beautiful Husband has so much energy now. My God he chases me all day. 😁

We laugh, debate each other on issues, have disagreements and make up, have mini bible study, do 2-3 minute light body movements (leg lifts, light dancing) throughout the day, go for mini drives, just encouraging ourselves to keep moving around.

Even when I get lazy wanting to lounge around he say lets get up and move. I yell no! He then start messing with me and next thing you know I am being chased, 😂 and I running to get dressed. Must keep grumpiness and low motivation out the house he says. Dude...😂

Life is what you make it and happiness is a choice. The rest in God's hands.

Thanks again Ed. You always share motivational uplifting comments.

🕊️🥂🙌 Enjoy life!
