Hi there. I just had this surgery 2 wks ago today. Left side. I was told there is no down side to having this done. This is my 2nd surgery since late August. The first surgery they took one lymphnode to check it and it did have C. I DID experience some lymphedema with taking just the one. They said this was rare. With this 2nd surgery they took 7 lymph nodes and did the bypass, these were free of C. Post opp appt today surgeons say I’m healing very well. You will have to where a drain(s) more than likely. I’ve got 1 inplace and it will be removed tomorrow. Hope this info helps you. It is relatively new where I live it’s only been around about six months. Best of luck to you and God bless

I only had few lymph nodes removed and have not had any problems with lymphedema. Hopefully others who have had the surgery can comment with their experience.

Have you tried other therapies for you lymphedema like massage?
