You do not want to remain on action surveillance now that you know you’ve got cancer with a Gleason 7. if you do nothing it will spread and probably get worse (higher Gleason).

At your age a prostatectomy would probably not be the best choice. Doing HIFU would give you the option of multiple other treatments if it came back, and it might cure it. It would also give you a good chance of being able to still get an erection. Surgery makes that possibility iffy.

I had surgery, HIFU wasn’t available 14 years ago or I would probably have picked it.

Hey Jeff,

I see your posts on a lot of threads. thanks for the input. I'm GL 7 (3+4). pi-rads 2 SMALL lesion. One location. one side. great candidate for HIFU.
BUT high Decipher. We are all most worried about cancer traveling to lymphs and more.
have you seen any reports on High Decipher making HIFU less of an option????
