Yes, the word "fibrotic" is the issue. That is scarred lung tissue...caused by many things including radiation.
My first VAT was not difficult, I was driving my car within a week. I had the typical nerve issue for about 6 months but it all went away. My second VAT was more difficult since a rib was cracked. Same nerve issue which took longer to clear up,,,it has been over a year so I guess it is permament but fortunately not a big deal, just a little numbness. I do have a stiff chest and some soreness when taking deep breaths.
Regarding treatment options, I think it depends on the institution.
