@jennirdh

I’m so relieved to hear from everyone, thank you so much for all your advice and stories. I started the Prolia partly because my sister was on it w great gains, but I have reminded her not to ever stop it without a GOOD plan, better than mine was. I started the Tymlos 2 days ago, at 2clicks, then 3, and I’ll work my way up. So far it’s ok, but I realize I’m taking a baby dose lol. Has anyone heard of Osteostrong? It’s a method (place) that helps you build bone density and strength and balance, once a week you go and do the machines, red light therapy, etc. Someone told me about it and there happens to be a location very close to me. I’m thinking of joining, the instructors all have been on this osteoporosis train as well. Google it if you haven’t heard about it, pretty encouraging.

@jennirdh there is a thread here on Osteostrong.

Make sure to refrigerate Tymlos pens if you are not doing full dose, so you can use the pen past 30 days. You will need more needles too.

Some physicians are advocating osteostrong.
I had one session. The tech were not knowlegeable about osteoporosis, but were intensely encouraging. It was great fun. The problem being that even if our muscles are strong enough for that extra push our bones may not be. There was a photo wall of clients. Some were no longer participating because of fractures. One in particular fractured while on a machine. There may have been no connection between osteostrong and the fracturing.
Even with physical therapy its best to be careful that the therapist understands osteoporosis and the dangers that even good exercise can pose with bones that are less durable.
Best wishes with osteostrong The compression garments are great.
