Sudden hearing loss and an echo

@rlsutton

I’ve had sudden sensory hearing loss for a year now. I’ve had no real help. Was very dizzy in the beginning, which is better, but have right side facial numbness and right side sinus tightness. All this is worse than the not hearing. I’m not real sure if the doctors really understand sudden hearing loss. I was told a cochlear ( might) help. I don’t like might and don’t think it would help the facial numbness. Haven’t really found anyone with the same symptoms. Sorry this is not much help.

@rlssutton you might want to post on the acoustic neuroma association forum under "inquiries." They will no doubt suggest an MRI with contrast.

I have facial numbness, tinnitus and dizziness- all typical for neuromas- but mild to moderate hearing loss is symmetrical- both ears, so less likely to have a nauroma (only 3-15% of neuromas don't have hearing loss on one side). It sounds like maybe you could get checked out for this. (The sinus sensation could also be a nerve...)
