Cymbalta wean side effects
I have been off of a low dose of cymbalta for a month. Pain has increased in joints, bones and muscles. No diagnosis with small fiber large fiber nerves normal. Any ideas for natural healing ?

I take cymbalta, and have found I can take less with yoga, walking, and paying attention to food sensitivities that cause problems (gluten, dairy) I know it isn't weaning, but, it could be helpful I suppose. Recently after reflecting on why I would be sensitive to foods and realizing all of my life I have done this, "I'm so strong I don't need anyone or anybody" and focusing instead on feeling interconnected with everything, that my body relaxed some about food and I can eat gluten again. Just some random thoughts. Starting to wonder if I'd feel OK now without cymbalta.
Thank you. My problem is I think withdrew too quickly but definitely more hydration
Cymbalta was an absolute bear for me to taper down. I had been on it about 4 years, though.
After about six months, I started to feel more like myself. Unfortunately, that still included the increased pain. Cymbalta (& gabapentin) are both good for pain. They are just really hard to get off of and have unfortunate side effects
Thank you. I just feel I have increased pain since on it was put on it for some burning in neck and arms and some tingling in feet. After much research it was probably too aggressive. ( all testing has been normal). Spinal changes for sure after X-ray and mri. ).
A cautionary tale….i was on Cymbalta for several years for fibromyalgia pain. Over time it increased my blood pressure (long story how I learned Cymbalta was the cause).. I foolishly quit cold turkey thinking the warnings against doing that were likely “worst case”. It was a foolish and dangerous thing to do. I was depressed to the point of not wanting to live in that state. I sat in my chair nearly full time and developed lung clots.
Do not dc Cymbalta cold turkey!
Thank u for response. I did not go cold turkey but weaned too fast. Was only on it total for month but I agree bad news. I was getting side effects after a week on it
I think it depends on the person. I have been on it for quite some time. My pain is down and my blood pressure is usually just 120/70. I am 82 years of age and have had fibro for over 20 years. I would never consider going cold turkey.
And you are wise! I had been on it for over ten years. I was diagnosed with FMS just after menopause at 51 and I’m now 77.
I appreciate this conversation. I have been on Cymbalta for almost 10 years. The research I have done doesn’t really give me incentive to try to get off of it. I don’t really have any side effects and have tried to wean off in the past and immediately my aches and pains Intensify so I guess I’ll stay on it.
My pain was really helped with Cymbalta.....however even on the lowest dose I was so constipated and other than that stopped. I went 5 days with no bowel movement and can't handle that. I do take Gabapentin 600mg morning and evening. Helps with feet tingling, burning and some pain. I can wean down 300mg at a time and have never had an issue with it. Not sure with Cymbalta as I only took it for 2 weeks. Not sure what other meds you might be on and could it be them. I'am very sensitive to statins and use Praluent.
