I'm a year and a half post reconstruction and my skin feels more normal but not quite the same. I am still numb and was told that might be forever since with the mastectomy my nerves were removed as well. I wish my health professionals could have told me more in the beginning. I wouldn't change the treatment but I like to know what's happening
I was finally able to have my reconstruction a week ago. Took over two years due to recurring pneumonia. I love the results. I did have the issue when I had expanders with the radiated breast being higher than the other side. Supposedly my surgeon closed capsule?! on the non radiated to lift it up and match. I am noticing slight difference which I will bring up in my post op.
