Burning nerve pain, with raw sore feeling under the ball of my feet

Hi all looking for any advice for relief for severe burning pain in my feet with severe raw feeling of open wounds under the balls of my feet and back of my toes, I can’t wear socks, slippers or shoes without severe uncomfortableness and burning feet.
I’m a 48 yr old woman, who’s a complicated case with many health issues, and undiagnosed with some ailments. I’ve Small Fiber Nerve Neuropathy, Fibromyalgia, Type 2 diabetes, possible PoTs, nearly died 16 years ago from Vasculitis called Microscopic polyangiitis, menopause, depression, as I’ve no life, dealing with severe fatigue and barely sleep at night. Dealing with palpitations and high Heart rate when standing and really low Blood pressure when laying down, dizziness, balance issues, eye sight issues. So many things wrong. But the worst thing that really prevents me from day to day stuff is my feet. I’ve spent so much money on socks or shoes or creams, ice socks. But looking for a slipper that’s cooling or socks as my feet are cold yet burning.
Sorry for long complicated question, but I don’t do things easy it seems. So any advice I greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Thank you - my PCP says to use the Asper creme with lidocaine because I'm taking gabapentin (3 - 300 mg capsules 3 times a day ) and amitriptyline at bedtime.

Wow you’re on a high enough dose of gabapentin, and supposedly it’s works good with Amitryptline. But I found that my body got used to the high doses that I had my doctor bring me down to a lower dose, which takes time as you don’t want to cold turkey stop it. But I found that the nerve medication was causing me pain too. So I tried staying on a lower dose. As the higher dose wasn’t helping me much.
As per crème did not work at all even with lidocaine.
Really hope you find something that will give you relief. Sending you healing hugz

Thank you. I'll check with my PCP and see about lowering the dose.

Well for me it just seemed like the high dose stopped working, suppose depends how long you’ve been on it.
I take pregabalin as found it better then gabapentin. But know those medications work differently for everyone. Plus unfortunately pregabalin cause’s water retention, so I gain weight easily on it.
But definitely talk to your doctor.

Reading all the comments regarding burning pain under the balls of one's feet, I can sort of relate. I have been a frequent commenter here on Mayo Connect. A great resource for sharing and caring. The whole bottoms of my feet are nearly always burning except when I am lying down. Of course it's probably due to my severe, chronic neuropathy. It also causes burning along my lower back, buttocks, back of legs, and the ankles and tops of feet. Meds have helped very little, Most physical activities cause the burning pain to really ramp up. I have learned to accept the pain to a degree and just continue working in my shop, knowing that the pain will soom increase like a hurricane making landfall, And to think, just four years ago, at age 72 I was skiing, cycling 30 to 50 miles a week, and working outside on our house. It's interesting how circumstances can turn in an instant. I have had virtually very test, procedure, and medication known to mankind. Some things are just beyond the scope of modern medicine. Lord, time for you to take control. Thou art the potter and I am the clay. Thy will be done!

Thanks a million for your help. I will check those discussions out.
As for my feet I don’t actually have open wounds, but it feels like that. It’s unbearable and feels like a wound on the balls of my feet and back of my toes. I keep a good eye on my feet due to diabetes.
Really appreciate your reply as I’m desperate for any relief.
Thanks 😊

Cindylyn, we could start a club, get hats, jackets the whole nine yards. As I don't do anything the easy way either... my first question as well as suggestion. Is if you've tried gabapentin I've a newly acquired neuropathy in my feet. Which I believe is being caused by an L5 impingement. But not that I highly recommend it but gabapentin took the edge off of the pain. And I believe it could help with your sleep issues as well... Not sure but hoping.
