Elevating my head in bed helps my Neuropathy in my feet
I have tried many different meds, creams, etc. to deal with the PN in my feet, all with very mixed results. I think we all know by now that there is no magic bullet. What helps me may not help anyone else and visa versa.
I am relatively fortunate as my PN doesn't really bother me during the day very much but experience the pain when I go to bed and try to go to sleep. With this in mind I decided to experiment with elevating my head in bed (I have an adjustable bed, but assume building up with pillows, etc. would also work). This has really helped me so far experiencing very little pain over the past week. I hope it is not just a fluke, but I am excited as most of my attempts at a solution for my PN has only showed me only what makes it worse.

I have an adjustable sleep number bed but I have not noticed a difference in elevating my feet for neuropathy. I also have lipoedema.
No, I elevated my head, not my feet, about half way . I also know , in my past history with this stuff, that there is no universal remedy.
Interesting - I don't experience pain anymore but I have noticed the numbness is way worse laying in bed than it is sitting up. I would have expected it to be opposite.
🤔 Interesting! I Only get Neuropathy when I lay down in bed. All day long nothing and sitting in my chair nothing.
I am assuming it's coming from my Lumbar area and then shooting down both legs into both feet.
I have a remote bed and I will try elevating my head tonight. Thank You! 🤞
Hope it helps you as it has helped me.
I am trying it tonight! Will keep you posted!🙌
I have read that Vitamin B1 Thiamine does wonders for PN. Make sure to take with a B Complex - they all work synergistically.
Welcome @mcamp9987, Thanks for posting. If you don't mind sharing, have you been diagnosed with neuropathy? What symptoms do you have?
I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in the early 80's and my PCP and VA benefits exam diagnosed me with PN in the summer of 2010. It started in the toes of my right foot with stabbing pain but now includes my left foot and some in my arms and hands, which are no where as bad as my feet. The VA issues me with diabetic shoes with inserts, which helps me a lot. The pain really strikes me when reclining in a recliner with my feet up and when I go to bed.
I don't have much problem when up and walking.
The pain in bed at night makes falling asleep difficult so I have been taking Melatonin 5mg coupled with a chewable tablet of "Mid-Nite" which helps me over the hump.
I have not, however my diabetic brother does have neuropathy in his feet and arms.
