@bea4me

I've lived on my own for decades and I would want a stranger staying in my home. I have neighbors around me who offer to help if I need it. Also have a wonderful Patient Navigator at the cancer center I go to who has been of amazing help. Was married for almost 20 yrs. before we divorced so ever since I'm quite happy living in my own home with my kitties. I'm pro-active with my health and participate in a lung cancer support group.

@bea4me I am so happy that you have been able to remain independent and have such a great support system around you. That's great. May you continue to fare so well. Wishing you all the best!

I see that I left out an important word in the 1st sentence. Should read I would NOT want a stranger staying in my home. Years ago might have been OK to bring a stranger into the home, but too many bad people out there nowadays.

Sounds like you are in good hands .
Sounds like Ireland in my parents and grandparents days .No need for shitty treatment in old people 's retirement homes .
Your immediate family and neighbours . young & old , looked after your wellbeing .
It's changed times . Your children want tp put you away and sell your home .
Keep well .
