After a Signatera test. What are your options?

I'm curious. You do a Signaterra test, and it comes back positive. Then what? Our cancer doctors said they would have to wait and see. So, why do the test? What options do you have if you get a positive score?

@russ5 is Signatera only used for those with stage 4 already? Did you have a doctor who did it for stage 1, 2, or 3?

@russ5, here is some information from Signatera's website https://www.natera.com/oncology/signatera-advanced-cancer-detection/faq/

"What is Signatera™ and what does it test for?
Signatera™ is a personalized, tumor-informed assay optimized to detect circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) for molecular residual disease (MRD) assessment, treatment response monitoring, and early recurrence monitoring."

What can MRD testing tell me about my cancer?
A negative result indicates that tumor DNA was not detected in your blood and that you are more likely to remain cancer-free if you were diagnosed with early-stage cancer. If you have metastatic cancer, a negative result may mean that your treatment was able to decrease the amount of cancer cells to undetectable levels, meaning the treatment has been effective. A positive result indicates that tumor DNA has been detected in your blood and means there is higher risk for your cancer returning if you were diagnosed with early-stage cancer. Your doctor may continue to monitor your ctDNA levels to assess your tumor’s response to treatment."

Russ, what type of cancer have you been diagnosed with? Has your cancer doctor discussed treatment options?

I have had the Signatera test after having one recurrence, Stage 1 endometrial. I had 3 S tests that were negative, now the last one, positive. Waiting to hear from Drs. as to next steps. Had PET and MRI so far. Inconclusive.
