HCT/HGB are calculated values
The approx. rule is HCT = 3 x Hemoglobin.
hgb=MCV x RBC divided by 29.8: This formula can be used to calculate hemoglobin
Hemoglobin is also a measure of anemia.
also if you are severely dehydrated that both Hct & Hgb. will appear high in your report

I cannot comment anything else as I am ignorant about that topic ( pardon me)

except if HCT is high which is my case I have to modify diet severely - it helps.. last 5 years I had a phlebotomy to reduce the value of HCT ( which if too high can cause blood clots if over 55%

And what is your number? Did I miss that?? Wondering exactly how bad my number is, but it sounds like nothing is really done until 55%? I do have atherosclerosis and I see heart disease can cause it but there’s a lot of those. I’m sure I’ll find out. Thanks for the information!
