What a great question! Thank you for it. I don't watch TV (not since 1972 when I left home!) so not super aware of celebrities. My general feeling is that it is positive that breast cancer has been de-stygmatized. In my grandmother's generation it was a secret--and sometimes women wouldn't even go to the doctor because of fear and shame.
On the other hand, the positive upbeat view can make can make those living with cancer that is spreading feel marginalized or even like failures. And women who die of breast cancer didn't "lose." They simply died, as we all will eventually. So--I feel it is a mix. What are your thoughts? I'd be curious to hear them.

No# 1, you can't be ashamed of something that isn't your fault. No# 2 Knowledge is power. Women need to talk about it and educate one another.
