Sorry to hear of your sisters issue. If it were me and scar tissue in that area is the problem, Doing the same thing and getting the same results is not the direction to keep going. By kinking up, do you mean the external tubing gets kinked? If so perhaps shorter tubing could help. Manage the tubing by coiling it loosely and securing with a twister tie (like those on a loaf of bread). Wrap excess tubing around the pump itself and secure with a rubber band.
If the cannula is kinking, review the procedure for inserting the infusion set. Some sets can get inserted improperly if great care in the insertion process isn't followed. We all can get lax in procedures we do frequently. YouTube is a good source to see where you maybe missing or doing something that's just not quite right. Just input the fusion set name in the search area.
Cleaning the infusion area with soap and water, then wiping down the area with alcohol before insertion. Skin-tac is a wipe on sticky agent that is really sticky and helps keep the infusion set from peeling off. In addition, put on a Skin Grip over patch could provide additional insurance. The upper arms, and thighs. Not sure if an antiperspirant could be applied beforehand? Wishing her the best.
