Chronic Gastritis
I have been battling a stomach issue for three months. At first I started having a soapy taste while drinking water from my yeti cup. Then I started feeling bloated and indigestion. After my go to gaviscon couldn’t get it under control I went to my gastroenterologist for help. He put me on Pantoprazole sod dr 40 mg in the morning and famotidne 40 mg at bedtime. After several weeks with no relief they did a endoscopy to see what they could find. Everything looked normal and they took 5 samples for biopsy and everything they tested for was negative. Then he tested a stool sample and it was negative. Then he changed my medication to Dexlansoprazole dr 60mg cap . 20 days in and I still have no relief. I have totally changed my diet. I cant eat dairy or anything with spices or fried food, I have stop caffeine and no alcohol and am on a bland diet. The only thing I have accomplished is 20 lb weight loss. But I still get acid reflux and stomach pain every day. ANY SUGGESTIONS,

Are you on any medication that could cause it? Many meds have additives that cause gastritis. Also I developed Bile acid reflux after gallbladder surgery which is different from GERD and it causes gastritis. That is better treated with Carafate or a medication called Questran. Both are great medications and if the PPI 's are not helping I would ask to try one of the above mentioned.
I also assumed the biopsied for H Pylori. Hope this is helpful❤️
I have been diagnosed with chronic gastritis, and a redundant colon. And, I seem to be having trouble with my blood sugar. My question are about diet? Has anyone been diagnosed with chronic gastritis and a redundant colon, and what diet can I use as a guide. The two issues don't seem to be connected, on the internet. Suggestions anyone-please.
Did you find relief yet ?
I’m chronic 7 gastrointestinal disorders for 10 long years daily . Getting worse each year .
Seen every kind of Dr , had all the tests , tried all the rx and supplements, diets etc .
Now I barely can eat , have chronic fatigue and Gastro cardiac syndrome ( heart arrhythmias from it ).
I’m at my wits end .
No one & nothing has helped .
Yes I think I am getting some relief, and no, I have pain and the fatigue, but I think I am on the correct path now.
When I read about what a redundant colon was, I realized what was going on for real. Why I was having the pain especially after a bowel movement. That is horrible, I would end up in tears at times. When I eat a high fiber bread, or cereal-it is like I put a plug in my intestines-I have pain, and my bowels do not move. What I have learned is that I will never be able to eat normal, so I can just forget that, I will always need to stick to a moderate fiber intake, No high fiber, but moderate amounts of fiber are best for me, I feel the best when I cook and puree my vegetables, and at times I even puree my meat. I do not eat beef, and pork ( I get polyps). Not good with a lot of fish ( I had uric acid crystals), but I do eat tuna, and canned oysters, and sardines, maybe once or twice a month. I am thin. But, all in all I am so happy I found out about the redundant colon, I do feel better than before.
I do have a question for anyone, and everyone. Is there any connection to Diabetes? If you have chronic gastritis, with a redundant colon does it set you up for Diabetes, or does Diabetes cause the chronic gastritis?
Thanks!
