I have taken Gabapentin for 5 years since being diagnosed with CKD. I take it as needed, 300mg 3 times a day.
I take it when I have a gout flareup (gout can be a side effect of CKG). I usually take it for 2-3 weeks and then stop cold turkey. All I can say, is I've had zero (0) side effects. I hope this helps, but each individual may react differently.

It certainly does help. One of the things I was afraid of is being addicted, although my neurologist PA said that it was no longer a controlled substance. It is good to know that you don’t have withdrawal even when you abruptly stop taking it. Thank you!
