Hello new member Yves21,
was finally diagnosed with a grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma in August2008 after 3yr of complaining of various but being very fit Cancer was not in the books. After my surgery I was given a 5yr life expectancy and still here and thriving currently on long term disability and filled the original 5 yrs with plenty of volunteering(feeds the soul) after surgery went through 30 days of radiation /chemotherapy, over the years ended taking 210 rounds of chemotherapy and per my first round request they haven't changed the taste I was thinking a nice mixture of berries or bubble gum but no not yet. Waiting to see from my upcoming MRI results to see the next step might be a surgery and per my oncologist I should be ok for another round of radiation. Feel very fortunate of been able to see the grass not the roots and encountered such amazing individual on my Journey. Like my mentor Dr. Robert Buckman use to say "Cancer is a word not a sentence". Interesting fact I realized over the year the first thing most do with bad bad news is hold there breath and the first reaction we had at birth was to breath in the new experience. All the best to all of you and stay positive as much as you can its ok to cry and talk about I actually baptized mine Bertha and found my fight song Trooper - We're Here For A Good Time (Not A Long Time)

Welcome, @yves21. What a journey. And a great sense of humor. I was lucky enough to meet Dr. Buckman and love the title of his book "Cancer is a word, not a sentence". Did you know him?
