CA19-9 is a non-specific marker. It is not exclusive to the PDAC form of pancreatic cancer. There are a number of pathologies both benign and malignant that can cause elevation and it is well known that a number of situations related to inflammatory processes can result in increased levels. Examples are a Covid infection, influenza and vaccinations. Sometimes an underlying inflammatory process might not be evident and can be the cause of elevation.

What if it was 48 during the Covid infection and then 57 one month later.
