Could severe shivers at night be a sign of infection?

I have had 6 hip Surgeries on my left hip. The most recent one being July 1, 2024. For the past two weeks, the pain in my hip has been unbearable. No amount of medication, hot compression, or cold compression has help. I'm worried because the past 3 nights I have been shivering uncontrollably. I'm so cold that my whole body shakes and my teeth are chatting. But in the morning I'm running a fever 100-102. Could this be an infection on my new hip? It has been very sensitive lately.

@bochoa1 PLEASE contact your or your surgeon as soon as possible. All of the symptoms you report suggest that you have an infection. Since the hip is sensitive, it is quite possible it could be the source of infection.

Have you seen a doctor since the symptoms began?

@bochoa1, I wanted to check in to see how you are doing? Did you follow @sueinmn's advice and seek medical attention? Sensitivity, pain and fevers are clear signs of a possible infection and certainly require immediate medical attention. I hope you were able to seek help and can update us on how you are doing with your hip surgery?
