Stenosis pain - what exercises have helped you best?

Hi - what exercises have helped you to most to deal with the pain from lumbar spinal stenosis? My pain is always in my lower leg. I have so many exercises from over the years, I don’t know where to begin. The last epidural has worn off and I can’t get another one for a month or so. Thanks! Love to hear what works for you.

Was your problem compressed nerve at that level? I read new pathways for nerves can be formed with exercise from McGill’s site. Time for nerve flossing!

I'm not an expert, but my understanding is the stenosis causes a narrowing which causes nerve pinching. I think the better posture/alignment reduces the pinching.

Your understanding is correct. My L5 is pretty compresses from the stenosis. I’m going to focus on nerve glossing for now. Glad to hear Gokhale method worked for you! The closet free session of that is bout two hours from me -

I had decompression surgery at L3/4 and felt better two months later, but now six months later I am having worse throbbing in my legs and my left toes curl up. The Surgeon says it's Foraminal Stenosis and he would do fusion, which I must avoid. Do you know anything about Foraminal Stenosis ?

I know nothing about foraminal stenosis. I’m sorry this is happening to y9u.

Sorry, I don’t have any specific knowledge about foraminal stenosis, but I think the Gokhale Method is worth a try before going to surgery.
