I would also suggest the book, Still Me: Accepting Alzheimer's without Losing Yourself, by Rebecca Chopp who very likely wrote the book, Still Alice, under the nom de plume of Lisa Genova which blow-by-blow gives the experiences of someone going through MCI to death and provides references.
