Burning nerve pain, with raw sore feeling under the ball of my feet
Hi all looking for any advice for relief for severe burning pain in my feet with severe raw feeling of open wounds under the balls of my feet and back of my toes, I can’t wear socks, slippers or shoes without severe uncomfortableness and burning feet.
I’m a 48 yr old woman, who’s a complicated case with many health issues, and undiagnosed with some ailments. I’ve Small Fiber Nerve Neuropathy, Fibromyalgia, Type 2 diabetes, possible PoTs, nearly died 16 years ago from Vasculitis called Microscopic polyangiitis, menopause, depression, as I’ve no life, dealing with severe fatigue and barely sleep at night. Dealing with palpitations and high Heart rate when standing and really low Blood pressure when laying down, dizziness, balance issues, eye sight issues. So many things wrong. But the worst thing that really prevents me from day to day stuff is my feet. I’ve spent so much money on socks or shoes or creams, ice socks. But looking for a slipper that’s cooling or socks as my feet are cold yet burning.
Sorry for long complicated question, but I don’t do things easy it seems. So any advice I greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

randymor I also am going to try acetyl l carnirine
I have tried r alpha lipoic acid with minimal relief
Oh wow ok I don’t know much about it, but thank you so much. I will reach out to a podiatrist.
Unfortunately I can’t do ice or ice socks because it makes my nerve pain worse by giving me severe shooting nerve pain in my legs. I sound crazy when I say this but my feet are normally cold, where I wish I could put a sock on, yet burning hot at the same time.
Really appreciate your comment.
Thank you.
Hi - are those prescriptions or OTC [over the counter]? If OTC what would be the names on the store shelves?
Thank you.
No unfortunately not OTC. You need to see a PCP or neurologist to discuss your neuropathy.
Sorry can’t be more helpful
@cindylyn
Do you have your diabetes under control and have you been able to change your diet to help you lose weight. That might help with the neuropathy symptoms. Have you been diagnosed with/treated for sleep apnea (which may explain some of the fatigue) and do you take melatonin to help you sleep? If you haven’t tried alpha Lipoic acid and Acetyl l carnitine supplements to help with your neuropathy symptoms, this may help. I have small fiber neuropathy and the supplements help me.
Were you ever told you were deficient in vitamin B12 or iron? You may want to check for vitamin B6 toxicity, too. Do you get any exercise through physical therapy/pool therapy? It is good to increase circulation to your feet.
@cindylyn
P.S. Have you ever had your thyroid checked (full blood panel of TSH, T3, T4, TPP)? Thyroid issues can be behind diabetes and heart disease. I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and treated with levothyroxine for hypothyroidism post thyroid lobectomy.
@cindylyn
P.S.S. Correction…TPO is a blood test of thyroid autoantibodies that can show if your immune system is attacking your thyroid. Also, I meant to include that alpha Lipoic acid and Acetyl l carnitine supplements can help control blood sugars.
I am having success fighting the sore and burning feeling at the bottom of my feet with the Naboso products. The socks have a patent-pending Naboso texture onto the inside. The insoles use the same texture. In my case both overwrite the hyper-sensation I am experiencing in my feet.
I wear the socks at home and use the insoles in my sneakers (replacing the original insoles).
