@gerberdaisy19 For my mother, I found a PT who was truly expert with vertigo. He came to her apartment. Of course for myself I went to a regular PT who had the equipment to diagnose BPPV but didn't know much about the other forms of vertigo.

I have been diagnosed with vestibular migraine by neuro and Mass. Eye and Ear ER. But I sometimes wonder if that is a catchall diagnosis for vertigo that isn't explained. For me that does not involve room spinning but a failure to know where I am in space!

Another kind of vertigo I forgot: cologne from a roommate set off the room spinning with continuous vomiting, went to ER.

I know there is a difference between vertigo and dizziness but I never remember what it is 🙂

I worked at UMass for 5 years! I’m assuming “mass” refers to Massachusetts but ha, that could be way off.
Anyway, yeah I need to try again. For me, it’s not BPPV. I’m so sorry your mom gets it too!
Hmm that’s interesting that it was at an ER!
Yeah vertigo is quite different from dizziness. With mine, I feel like I’m falling off the bed or chair when I’m not moving.

The ER’s here don’t do anything for vertigo alone- they’ll offer meclazine (sp?) but that doesn’t work. I did just find a medical site that mentions other drugs that they’re trying
We’re thinking once the migraines are not so out of hand, the vertigo will follow but who knows
We hijacked this thread! Apologies to the OP
