I had both knees replaced at the same time 2015....rough but recovered. then 3+ years ago having problem with the rt knee, burning pain, instability. Knee brace helped, but eventually had a thicker spacer put in. Was better. Then the same thing happened with the left knee. Thicker spacer put in 9 mos ago, again hard recovery. I initially made good progress at 4 mo's had a big unexplained setback, glitchy painful, but I've stayed pretty active and I've been cycling throughout. last 2 weeks seem to have stabilized. getting back to more normal activities, I'm a cyclist and inline speedskater so easing back slowly. Now pain outside of rt knee which I think is tendinitis and IT Band rubbing. Stretching seems to help it. Also calcification bumps kind of a lot of them inside of the newly repaired right knee. I'm seeing the doctor again about it, but don't really know if there's anything to be done. trying to accept my new normal

I had my first knee replacement 29 years ago at age 37. I would knee on my knee which wasn't advised and I done almost everything but jump, run or skate. I had it replaced again last year. I didn't think you could do skating with a replacement. I thought they were made better now. My doctor only gave me 10 years for the replacement because of my age. Yours has only been three and one was that was replaced was 29 years and the other one I have will be 24 years.
