I’ve been on both. Couple years ago Lupron was unavailable for a few months so we got eligard instead. They use the same ingredients and make no difference in how you feel.
I have not noticed any raspy voice issues. I am in webinars every week with many people that are on either drug and I have not noticed that as a problem.
There is a noticeable difference in pitch in the voices of those on ADT vs. a control group: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23177744/
That’s a real surprise. Never noticed it, but I guess it actually does happen.
I notice it now more than ever. I do voice over stuff for a number of radio stations, and it
is noticeable. I just had the 4th, and last Eligard shot. Just curious who else might have that.
Yes. If you've lost a lot of weight with your cancer, it affects the fatty tissue of your vocal cords causing raspy hoarse voice. Was examined by an ENT doc and that was his diagnoses.
No worries there. I've gained at least 15lbs with the mighty eligard.
Not at all over 2 yr.
Interesting. I've lost more than 40 pounds since being on ADT--I get too depressed to eat some days so I don't--and am definitely noticing a change in my voice. It also feels like my vocal cords on the right side no longer vibrate and everything happens on the left.
Best of luck to you. Wow, I wish I'd lost weight. I gained around 15 lbs or more.
Exercise and on a diet has made little difference.
