What is the average age of the gentlemen on here?

diagnosed with biopsy at 69 after tracking 4.5-6.3 PSAs for 13 years. Got serious about taking a closer look as I approached my 70th which was my planned retirement year.

I was diagnosed by biopsy at age 62. Had prostatectomy at 65.
Gleason 3+4=7.
My first elevated psa, 4.5, was discovered at age 57 but my pcp said nothing about it. My surgeon told me I probably had PC around age 55. I never experienced much in the way of symptoms during the time from diagnosis to surgery day. Genomic testing determined the “slow growth type” but in hind sight I may have treated it earlier. I kept hoping research on less invasive treatments would come while on active surveillance however in my case that really did not occur. My surgery was 10/1/21. I am almost 3 years and still testing undetectable for recurrence however I am a different person from the experience and now know the reality of this as a journey not just an event. I am however grateful as I read on Mayo Connect over these last few years what so many of us have been dealing with as well as many men I know personally here at home who have had it worse than I have.

Diagnosed at 53 after biopsy and underwent radical prostatectomy in Jan of this year. Have had my share of ups and downs as I am sure we all have - thankful for each and every day!

I’m 62. RP by Ted Schaeffer at Nortwestern in May of this year. Everything went smoothly as planned. Was Gleason 4+3 from the initial biopsy, and it was downgraded to 3+4 in the final pathology. No incontinence, and I just had my first PSA post op, which was undetectable. Very thankful at this point for sure. I did visit Mayo and was incredibly impressed, but went with a location closer to home. Dr. Schaeffer, fantastic, Northwestern, fantastic. I can’t give a higher recommendation. If you are new to this……step one, read Surviving Prostate Cancer by Patrick Walsh. The book is excellent and it will give you facts without the inherent bias of Internet forum groups. 65 diagnosed with Gleason score of 9 with hip involvement three weeks into 43 sessions of radiation along with hormone therapy

I was 55 when diagnosed with prostate cancer (Gleason Score 7, 4/3). I went with a radical prostatectomy at Mayo-Rochester and fortunately all going well.

Diagnosed at 67. PSA has always been < .5 but was detected after TURP performed. Caught by “accident”. 3+4 and waiting to get on surgery schedule

4 years Active Surveillance? What happened . How did the RP go? how you feeling ? I know the younger you get those the better off you recover , or at least be in good shape prior to surgery . You probably prepared for surgery . You doing OK Brother ? God Bless , James on Vancouver Island .
