I have the same issue... I understand the reluctance to do surgery to correct adhesions from another surgery but don't know what to do. Linzess & amitiza don't seem to help & that's all the keep prescribing. Trying to do "medical management" before they agree to surgery??!!

Gosh how long do you think you can carry on with medical management then? Would you opt for the surgery if it was offered? It's a terrible position to be in isn't it. I hope your keeping well.

judithrae,
Amitiza was useless from the start. Linzess had helped some at the first, but I still had to use miralax every day, 1-2x. Now I'm on Trulance, cheaper version of Linzess. The medical community has the time to make sure they are getting the cheapest drug possible... but they don't seem to have much time to actually find out what the problem is to begin with. I never know what each day will be like with my 💩💩. I have learned, for me, the Metamucil gummies are WAY BETTER AND EFFECTIVE than the powder. The cramping and bloating is much better. Makes sense, cuz you have to guzzle the powder with lots and lots of water and fast, or it gels up.
