I haven’t because I drink 2 liters a day so I would want to know how much you are drinking. Enough/ good labs?
,….Have you seen a nephrologist? Mine is anti Prolea, as is my dentist!
Flip side I’ve been taking Prolea for 6 years without side effects but this past dose has given me severe fatigue..sleeping 12 hours a night plus a 2 hour daytime nap! BIG decision time approaching because this is NOT my idea of quality of life! Good luck.
Thank you so much for your comment. I do drink a lot of water as well. I’ve had bladder issues for over 10 years now. I started on Evenity & had really bad side effects. My face broke out with Roscea & pustules after my second injection. I had massive migraines, bone pain where I couldn’t lift my arms in the air. So my Rheumatologist switched me over to Prolia. I have Trigeminal Neuralgia & my dentist is not in agreement with her choice. You said it best, this is NOT what I call a good quality of life. I will never take an Osteoporosis medication again. It’s not worth it to feel ill all the time or keep poking yourself to pee. I wish you the very best on what you decide on moving forward with Prolia. Good luck & please keep me posted. 🙏
Went to see my Urologist today & all looks well. I have bad Urinary Retention where most drugs kick it out & I have to cath. Prolia also made me sick with flu like symptoms. My Urologist told me NO more Prolia!!! So I need to be very careful & pray I never fracture or break any bones. Thanks for your concern. I greatly appreciate you. I really wish you the very best, Linda
The day after seeing my Urologist I landed myself in the ER because I was peeing blood. The doctor in the ER told me if you have bladder issues that Prolia should not be prescribed. It’s been 6 days & Ive been sick since my injection. Please do your homework before getting any Osteoporosis medication. You know your body better than anyone. My Rheumatologist had all my drugs with conditions & should have never ever prescribed Prolia. Lesson learned & no more bone injections. Ever! And for those who had NO reactions, you’re very lucky but please do your research prior to what your doctor prescribes. Please! It cost me my health & a special birthday vacation. If I only knew?
I’m with you. I felt horrid with Prolia. While I have friends who have no problems, I think there are many more that react badly. We just fount hear about them, and who knows how thoroughly prescribers look into the effects and interactions before prescribing. The drug companies provide them with the basic info.
Uh oh! I feel so bad reading the Prolia side effects everyone is having. I was on Reclast for 5 years. My latest DEXA score showed osteoporosis in my left hip. So, my endo wants to switch me to Prolia. Was also informed that cannot take but a limited amount of Reclast infusions. I had no side effects with Reclast but now i am worried about Prolia. Anyone taking Prolia with no side effects or minor? Thanks.
If you don’t have any underlying health issue you might be one of the lucky ones. Please make sure with your dentist before considering going on Prolia. Any dental work while on Prolia can cause many serious issues. So I would do a lot of research, talk with your doctors & dentist before going on Prolia. You know your body better than anyone. My doctor said it best. You’re dammed if you do & dammed if you don’t. Good luck in making a decision. I hope all goes well if you decide to try Prolia. Hope I helped. I wasn’t one of the lucky ones. But I have underlying health conditions.
Hello,
70 year old just diagnosed with osteopenia, -2.2 in lumbar.
Endo put me on fosamax, everything hurt, and could not do anything. Now wants me on prolia, they are different, but have the same side effect of "back pain". Also starting jatenzo (trt) which should help the bones and anemia.
I am not that bad yet, should I see what the TRT does before starting prolia ( and possibly have months of pain, if anything like fosamax, I don't think I could take the pain for that long.
And thoughts ? Experience with pain on fosamax and no pain on prolia ?

I agree. My doctor put me on Alendronate. It had so many bad side effects, I took myself off. Her next suggestion was Prolia. I don't think so!
