Sounds like possible kidney infection. If so you need antibiotics asap! My lower back was terribly sore when l had one and doctor actually called me back, which is rare. I’d get to an ER if your back hurts and have also discomfort. I don’t always have symptoms and landed in hospital 9 days with sepsis. Awful and near death, don’t mess with the urinary tract and kidneys.please!

@nierenstein, where about is the pain? 1) about even with the bottom of the rib cage? 2) about even with your waistline? 3)does the pain radiate around your sides going down to the bladder? 4)do you have any pain or burning when you urinate? which would indicate that you have a UTI. but numbers 1 - 3, would indicate Kidney stones most likely starting to pass from the kidneys. but remember, the kidneys actually are more closer to the bottom of your rib cage.
But either way get to the ER. like @vlbondon said DO NOT TAKE ANY CHANCES. @danny5
