I had COVID for first time in June 2024. I had had all 7 shots but still got it.
It started off with what I thought was sinus infection but went to walk in clinic (on a Sunday) did test and positive for COVID. They treated COVID with Pavalax (spell) but not the sinus infection.
Everything got worse especially sinus infection. Did a vitural with Mayo Clinic on Tuesday. They put me on prednisoze and antibiotics. They said take Mucenix but only the one with singular ingredient. The COVID was tough (temperature and lousy feeling) but tested negative 5 days later. However the sinus infection got worse and also got bronchitis infection.
Another virtual appt. with Mayo and back on more antibiotics. Again was told to take Mucenix as would help to loosen up phelm and mucous. It did.
It took another 3 weeks for sinus and bronchitis to start clearing up. What I found was the mucinex did a very good job loosening up the mucus and phelm. I see this is symptom of many and hard to get out either coughing or blowing nose. It does help so would recommend it to help with lossening up mucus. It is OTC but check with your doctors to make sure okay to take.
Weeks later my PCP said to continue taking the mucinex to help reduce thickness and get that mucus and phelm out. There are different forms of mucinex and I was told to take the one with only one ingredient (they specifically listed the ingredient). Not sure why but were sure adamant about it.
What was the one ingredient?
