Is this normal on ADT? Body hair gone

Posted by scottbeammeup @scottbeammeup, Sep 15 7:18am

I'm almost on my 6th month of ADT. This morning I noticed that almost all my body hair is gone except for the hair on my head. My underarm hair, pubic hair, and arm and leg hair are all missing. I look like a plucked chicken. Is this normal? Will this hair come back?

I also noticed that I haven't had to shave in almost three weeks.

Using Orgovyx what does one experience as the most frequent side effects ?

For me personally the thing I notice most is hot flashes. Initially, they were very bothersome, but they’ve become manageable over the past five months. The second thing I’ve noticed is loss of muscle tone and mass. I do resistance training 4 to 5 days a week and that helps stem the loss. I recommend doing that.

Loss of libido and ED also go hand in hand for most men that I’ve talked to.

Good luck on your journey.

For me, insomnia, loss of body hair, nausea/weight loss and anorgasmia. I've been lucky and not had the hot flashes so many other guys talk about. The weight loss was good in the beginning--I lost the 15 pounds I gained during the pandemic, but since then have lost 20 more and am starting to look gaunt.

Thanks Robert. I still haven't gotten a hot flash. I guess I'm lucky? I've been working out fanatically since starting ADT. Sometimes I wonder how good I would look if I had worked out 2-2 1/2 hours a day when I *wasn't* on ADT. I haven't made any gains at the gym or with bicycling but I also haven't lost much so I consider that a small win.

My problem is that I still have a decent libido, no ED with the help of Viagra but complete and total anorgasmia which means sex just leads to frustration.

Scott, Food for thought: once you’re off Orgovyx for six months and have a track record of your PSA and testosterone level and I suggest you consider going to a men’s sexual health expert. The one I went to told me that if my PSA remained undetectable six months to a year after stopping ADT we could consider hormone replacement therapy. My main concern is no longer about recovering sexual function, although that’s certainly on the list. My top concerns are reversing bone loss, muscle loss, fatigue, and mild depression.

I saw a sexual health doctor and he has me scheduled for testosterone tests starting in November which will be one month after ADT concludes. Unfortunately, he said that my testes had atrophied more than usual and that there was a "good chance" (I couldn't get him to give a percentage) that my testosterone will never recover but that TRT replacement therapy can be considered two years after stopping ADT.

That's a LONG way away so was kind of a possible setback, but I'm still going to hope for the best and, once ADT is finished, keep working out a lot, start taking zinc, and eat a lot of oysters.

Thanks for your reply. I did see your comments did not mention any joint pain. Is that a correct statement ? Fortunately I do palities twice per week for an hour
so that most likely will help me to keep in shape. Thanks

I had real severe hot flashes. You will probably get some brain fog after a few months. Your muscles do atrophy, doing weight training and walking regularly can help. Many people get fatigue, which the exercising can offset.

Most people just lose the desire for sex, you don’t think about it much. I know a couple of guys who were real horn dogs that said they really like the fact that happened, it was somewhat of a relief. Might’ve saved their marriages too.

These are all common side effects.
