Is hrt a good option after Evenity
I am a 76 year old woman. Menopausal at 38. Took some hrt 20 years ago. I am going to begin estrogen and testosterone pellets with a functional medicine provider. There may already be a discussion site for:
Discussion of the Women's health initiative study and what we are learning.
Fear of hrt linked with this flawed study
Can robust hrt act in place of prolia post Evenity.

Thank you very much @sonodeka for your reply and sharing your info with me. Your dxa results are a lot better than mine when I was diagnosed at 59 (my worst spine t score -3.4), my frax risk was a bit better than yours probably due to age. I'd do the same if I were you - give hrt a try as long as doctors give clearance. There are a few studies showing 2-3 years of transdermal hrt used in postmenopausal women could increase lumbar and hip bmd ~3-4%. To me, i'd be satisfied if hrt could hold bmd. Your current dosing is commonly used which is nice. Best of luck to you!
@dooshie, my endo thinks even a small dose will help with maintaining bmd somewhat, although the go-to dosing appear to be 0.05mg/day transdermal (or equivalent oral) estradiol. If you don't mind, could you share your bone markers when results are back? I'm monitoring too to get a right dose currently. Thanks a lot and have a great trip!
How long has it been?
Thanks Mayblin. I'd also be satisfied with holding steady, but good to know there's a possibility of growth as well! I read that hrt combine with exercise is better than either alone. I am doing as much as I can, currently following the strength training program by Margaret Martin, as well as other forms of exercise every day.
Thanks for sharing your research, it's good to have confirmation that we're on the right track. Best of luck on your path forward!
Best of luck, dooshie, I hope hrt helps you maintain, and thrive!
Happy travels.
Is anyone considering a bit of testosterone in their hrt cocktail?
I haven't seriously considered it. My cocktail is pretty basic. Let us know what you find.
Will do.
I have been using a combo of estrogen and testosterone . It’s been in the pellet form . I feel great .
Thanks for sharing. I have heard this from a number of women and I can't wait to give it a shot.
