@celia16

I jumped in on this thread due to my recent symptoms. I normally post on the Constipation threads, since I’ve had chronic constipation since the summer of 2022, except it left a few weeks ago, as I reported on the constipation thread. I had tried almost everything to go….diet, water, prescription pills, Metamucil, Miralax, etc. I did go with daily Miralax, but was like jello. Ugh….so, I was delighted when after being on Vitamin B12, per my Neurologist’s instruction, the constipation left and my BMs were normal again. UNTIL this past Sunday when I had diarrhea twice in one day. Then normal….then loose BM last night! Granted, I have been very heavy on salads lately. Almost daily I have a large plate of lettuce, tomato, apples, cucumbers, blueberries, shredded carrots and beets. Then more cooked veggies ( broccoli and cauliflower) at dinner. I don’t eat much wheat. I’ve had extensive autoimmune tests and am cleared. Negative for celiac. I do have type 1 diabetes.

Think I’ll ease up on the raw veggies and see how that works. I’ve also read that high doses of B12 can cause diarrhea. I have to stay on that though due to deficiency. Hmmm….hope it’s not that.

Congratulations on your cleared auto immune tests! That is great! Did you ever test any food intolerance? I was drinking a lot of vegetable juice but I find I am not tolerant to beets!
Maybe some of the vegetables in salad makes you intolerant? If I eat something I am not intolerant, I will have diarrhea too!

You did something so right so you are cleared of auto immune test, that is fabulous!!
By the way, my B12 level is normal too based on my test in July. But I will keep following it up.
