Was sent someone else's positive ctDNA results!

Posted by roywalton @roywalton, Sep 11 1:33pm

Had received negative Signatera ctDNA results in August, so was shocked to get a new report with my name and patient identifiers from the testing company Natera showing my results were POSITIVE and that I had cancer recurrence! Company says it was an error. This is unbelievable. Now I question any result from this firm.

There are no words. I can’t imagine such a thing. Your skepticism is understandable.

I had the hospital in Milwaukee Wis try to charge me for a MRI which I had cancelled as I had one done 10 days before at Mayos Called them & said it was not me that they did and the doc read I told them I was not even in the United States and had passport stamped from Poland & Finland They insisted it was me and I insisted right back to them. They would not back down as they were correct Ha HA SO I called the insurance company & told them what games they were playing in billing Guess who won SO they they tried to rebill us services in Feb again we sent them a copy of the cancelled check They back down a second time but no apology SO watch your bills as don't know if all hospitals are this perfect

So, how was Poland and Finland?

@roywalton I’m so sorry this happened to you and glad you “self advocated” and questioned the result. It must have been awful seeing a recurrence.

I know we’re all human and make mistakes, but this sort of mistake is awful and could be life threatening.

Imagine if you were actually “positive” but they sent you a “wrong” negative test result so you went on happily without questioning and without rolling your sleeves up again.

I hope the person entering data has been strongly cautioned by the hospital and put under job management
