I started on a new antidepressant called Mirtazapine also known as Remeron. I read that it’s helpful for sleep at low doses, i.e. 7.5 mg. I have been on them for about six weeks and I never felt so bad, in fact I barely sleep at all, the only thing it did was increase my appetite but that’s all. As always I have to wait for a while to speak to the doctor so I’m left with managing my own side effects. Also due to lack of sleep I have been sick twice with chest infections and having copd with asthma it’s been a nightmare. I wanted to wean off the drug but it isn’t easy to do so, again I need a doctor’ help to do this.

You are very brave to continue the meds for 6 weeks even though you feel so awful. I did try Sertraline for 4 months and was miserable. I finally said enough was enough and found a new doctor.
