Has any one had round 2 folfirinox delayed for 2nd time due to low WBC and low Platelets ? What can help besides medications like nulesta?

not familiar with Neulasta. My wife was on Folfirinox and needed Neupogen injections when her WBC were low. Oncologist would not give Neupogen prophylactically to prevent low WBC, so her chemo was delayed each time she had low WBC. What other meds are you being offered?

Neulasta injection on day pump was pulled did help with WBC but isn’t an answer for platelets. I had two separate platelet infusions when they were considered dangerously low.

Don’t laugh… but my ultimate answer was very dark chocolate! I bought clean, organic dark chocolate bars and ate a square every evening. At least 85% cacao.

Once that routine was in place I have never had low platelets. I did folfurinox for 8 months and then also folfuri.

Yes, my Folfirinox chemo sessions were also delayed twice due to low WBC. I don't remember the med. they gave me to increase the count. I had a total of 12 sessions of Folfirinox.

My 4th cycle was delayed due to low platelets. My oncologist reduced the concentration of my Folfirinox infusions and it was smooth sailing after that (with reduced side effects). I'm having the 12th and last infusion in a few days. CT scans and CA19-9 all clear, which is maybe why she was confident in reducing my meds.

Hi, I'm having my 12th chemo tomorrow. My last 4 chemo. All my blood values were low, and I took 2 units of blood before each chemotherapy,

Sorry it’s being delayed, but the doctor should be balancing out so that it’s not so harsh on you. I had to stop my gem Abraxane because of low blood count. Now I’m not in chemo and I feel good. I’ll get a scan in November to make sure it’s not spreading.
