Are you able to correctly metabolize antibiotics without a colon?

I have a family member with an ileostomy and she has no problem metabolizing antibiotics at all. I wish you the best. Praying for you.

So far none, except I have to take an Acidophilus Probiotic to reestablish my gut bacteria otherwise I have diarrhea.

I've had an ileostomy for over 20 years and haven't had a problem so far.

As a general matter, the issue to watch is how long it takes a pill to dissolve or release. I have an ileoatomy and have been told I should find alternatives to extended release drugs.

Don't know about antibiotics but my Magnesium tabs went straight through. I now take Gel Caps. If they through you can see them in your output.

Usually no, but there are types of capsule medication that are not digested and pass through stoma.

I take a number of pills every day. I use a mortar and pestle to crush the hard ones. I also use a twist pill crusher. I purchased these items from Amazon. I also purchased a set of four shot glasses. I dump the crushed pills (crushed to a powder) into a shot glass, add some fruit juice, throw my head back and swallow. This method works very well for me. I hope you try it!

Oh, I cut them with a pill cutter before I crush them. This probably sounds like hassle, but it’s just routine for. Otherwise, these pills would go straight through into my bag.
