Can Reclast be Lowered dose?

@debis67 what did your doctor mean by needing to see it in "black and white"?

You tolerated Prolia and may very well tolerate Reclast. Hydrate well, ask for an hour long infusion, take tylenol. You can expect fluish symptoms the first time and it goes away.

I believe it is probably administratively and financially difficult for the medical system to do partial doses, since that requires more frequent infusions. That is probably the reason for the 5mg once a year- otherwise all the patients doing Reclast would be doing infusions every three months and what happens to cancer patients? Just thinking "out loud."

I feel badly for mentioning partial doses to be honest. My doctor insisted on test dosing because of my kidney disease and atrial fibrillation. One doctor - and the infusion nurse- did tell me half doses aren't all that unusual so maybe you could try a different doctor.

No I did not tolerate Prolia well. I had many side effects and One landed me in the ER giving me Mega dose of steroids. I’m still having problems and it’s 7 months since I had my first one. My body is very sensitive to meds.

I guess he means by Black and white probably proof that you can lower the dose.
