If have an ascending aortic aneurysm, but that was never mentioned as a reason to pick a specific blood pressure medication. I started with amlodipine and my feet swelled to the size of a shoebox. They then changed me to losartan. I started out with 100 mg and was a zombie so they dropped me to 50 mg. I do take it at 6 o’clock at night, but I don’t think it’s helping my sleep because my sleep is not good at all. I was also taking 5 mg of bisoprolol with it initially which they dropped to 2.5 and I now don’t take it at all. My BP and heart rate are both under complete control with just the one medication. My blood work was done about six weeks ago and RBC was perfect. I have a cardiologist appointment in two weeks so thank you for the suggested topics to discuss.

bisoprolol is a beta blocker, In my view all beta blockers cause sleeping issues.( long time back I was using beta blocker) It is good to know that 50mg of losartan is sufficient to control your BP as 50mg of Losartan is good for 8 hours whereas 100mg of Losartan is effective for 24 hours. Another question that comes up: how is your Lipid profile, ask your Dr if you can substitute the Bisoprolol by a Calcium Channel Blocker.
