Floppy/Redundant colon dietary recommendations.

I am 72yrs old and have been told I have a floppy colon. I guess this is the reason I have frequent bouts of constipation that seem to be getting worse. My guess is those muscles are getting weaker just like all my other muscles. More fiber doesn’t seem to be the answer. Foods that really exasperate the situation are dense crusty bread, crackers, some pizza and oatmeal. I drink
Keifer every morning which has helped in the past but is now becoming less effective. Senecot has helped but really don’t want to take that all the time. Does anyone else have this problem and how are you managing it?

Hi Miralax is my savior. But oh boy its a fine line between taking too much and taking too little. So this is what I do now. Seems nuts but it works for me. I fix a glass and take about four big drinks. Then I just take a drink periodically until I have a BM. It’s working today. Seems to stop the “running to the john”. I’m way too old to ‘run!’🫣🥺🙃🙃
