Can you use CBD Oil when taking Immunotherapy drugs?
My wife has small cell lung cancer, she has just had her first session of Chemotherapy and immunology( combined) and we would like to know how soon after the administration of the drugs we can start back on CBD Oil. She was taking it up till a day before the immunotherapy and has been advised by her immunotherapist that, as there are no conclusive studies that he has seen on the effects of CBD Oil on the immunotherapy drugs in the liver ) that he is of the mind not to take any (CBD) at this time. We were hoping someone has actually taken the CBD soon after, or even during, and had some good results and no adverse effects on the function of the drugs or the liver. cheers, iain salmond.

I am a Mayo patient and my oncology group told me I cann use CBD oil anytime including after infusions.
I have kidney cancer and take a target drug and have immunotherapy once a month. I took cbd gummies to help me sleep until I read this article and plan on asking my oncologist at my next appt.
I am on keytruda and use medical cannabis and my oncologist is fine with it but said stick to the edibles (gummies) no smoking or vaping at all! Also make sure the gummies don’t have any grapefruit oil. I have had 3 treatments so far and after just 1 treatment my signatera test went from 50 to 2.4! That alone is great so it doesn’t seem my cannabis use has affected anything.
Welcome to Mayo Connect @jbdoxey00! It's great to hear of your success with Keytruda. I hope you continue to do well with the treatment. I continue to be amazed at the options that are available to us now. Go Research!, our lives depend on it.
@jbdoxey00 So glad you’re doing so well and so wonderful you and your oncologist are working so well together! 🙌
