His cardiologist has told us that she cannot give us medical advice on supplements since they aren’t fda approved, so to take what we feel would be beneficial but she couldn’t give us advice in that area.

Maybe his cardiologist gave you an answer you are looking for. “Do what you feel is beneficial, I’m not going to recommend any supplements.”

IMO the answer related, is not suitable for the question asked.
Now, IF the answer had been, "I am prescribing what the community of knowledge believes is best. Further, you should be aware there is very limited oversight of the supplements in stores by the government." That is all correct, and the last sentence a warning not to assume the materials in the supplements market are safe, or are even what is noted on the containers.
