Tymlos for life? My endo is telling me this

I saw my endo this week and he said he wants me on Tymlos for the rest of my life. I'm 76 and am only starting my 3 month. Has anyone else been told this?
When I started tymlos my heart was POUNDING . Suggestions that I start low and move up in my dose helped enormously... I only had pressure on my heart and now starting the 3rd month the pressure is finally gone.

im a 48 year old male and have been on tymlos for a month and thankfully no side effects. I'll keep you posted. I thought you could only take tymlos for two years?

@bayhorse Forteo came out much earlier. The company did studies on extending therapy. Radius has not done that for Tymlos. There is nothing inherently different in Forteo versus Tymlos in this regard: it is just what has been studied. Studies take time and money and people and I read that it was unlikelu Radius will commit to those.

The issue, in my experience, is that the PTH analogs stop working at some point. This can perhaps be ascertained by bone marker testing though my doctors have different opinions on that. I was told most of my bone growth happened before 18 months when I finally had a DEXA.

Extending treatment may help some who are still responding. I don't know if anyone is. Your doctor could tell you. Doing Forteo after Tymlos might be possible but I haven't heard of anyone who has done that as yet perhaps because of the issue of effectiveness petering out. Maybe someone will chime in who has done this or knows more about it.

19+% gain in spine (from severe to borderline, now -2.5)
9% gain in hip (Now -2.9)

Tymlos is authorized for 2 years. Forteo can be taken longer because the company did studies.
