TBS resources

I am still looking for a place in Oregon that offers the TBS technology. I got a list of supposed resources from Medimaps. I called every single place on the list and the centers had never heard of it. All they knew was DXA. Some of the places listed were no longer there. I would even consider Seattle or NorCal, but can’t find anything there.
Has anyone on the west coast actually had this?

My endo had also never heard of it, but is interested in it now that I have told him about it.

@jasperina - What is TBS technology? Total Bone Scan?

I would maybe recommend trying to talk to a DXA technician within one of the centers you previously called... Since the TBS is very much linked to DXA and maybe not offered separately from it, the person normally answering patient calls may not know about it. I hope you can find one!

@jasperina Getting a TBS can be a problem. I experienced the same as you that the places listed may not know what you are talking about. As @ostearn suggested it may be that the front desk people don't know but they actually do offer TBS. It may also me that the center purchased the software but doesn't use it. I dunno, but it's odd.

Anyway I get DXA's and TBS at my doctors office here in the Los Angeles area. That is one of the main reasons I chose this doctor. I would certainly think there should be some in the SF bay area that offer it?

@awfultruth, how did you go about finding a doctor who offers TBS with the DEXA? Did you just call around and ask?

@cat1203, I'm not certain, I may have found my doc already by just searching for doctors and osteoporosis in the LA area? But I do have a file of all the TBS sites in California and my doc is on that list. The list came from Medimaps the TBS folks. You can get that list here: https://www.medimaps.ai/find-centers-with-tbs/

Thank you. I already have that link. But I have read comments recently that it didn't seem to be up to date or accurate, or as you pointed out that often the facilities listed on that document didn't seem to know they had TBS or use it. I haven't delved into it myself. My first two scans were done in a hospital setting and I had thought that was the norm and I just went to the ones where my docs sent me. But I'm not crazy about my current doc and if I'm going to search for a new one it may as well be someone with DEXA.TBS capability.

I am in Seattle and am also looking for this. It looks like California is the closest, which is not viable.
