I highly doubt it! I developed these symptoms quite quickly over just a couple of years, and my sister has experienced all of them as well, yet she doesn’t have diabetes or hypertension. Although they appear similar, they’re not exactly the same. My ophthalmologist mentioned that my retinopathy doesn’t look like it’s caused by diabetes but rather seems more related to Mediterranean fever.
