Ligamentum flavum buckling is seen on my cervical MRI
It’s most pronounced at C3-4 and is compressing the spinal cord. I had fusions of C2-6 one year ago for numbness in my fingers and spinal cord compression. My hand symptoms are worse and now I have severe neck pain especially at night when I try to move and have to turn my neck or lift my head.
The only treatment I can find is another surgery approached from back of neck, through the muscles and is very painful. Does anyone else have this and you found any relief with something else?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Do you have hardware in your cervical spine? Have you seen your surgeon about the new symptoms and what was suggested? Have you had updated upper EMG testing?
Is there anything else beyond ligamentum flavum that is compressing your spinal cord/nerve roots? Was this showing on your pre-surgical MRI?
Yes to all your questions except the last, and I am looking into whether this was present on imaging before surgery and just not mentioned in the report. I will update when I know more. Thanks for your concern and response!
